A .50-110 (EX) LEVER-ACTION REPEATING SPORTING-RIFLE, MODEL '1886', no visible serial number,
late 19th to early 20th century, with shortened and re-blued 24 3/4in. round profile barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO, NEW HAVEN CONN. USA' (re-applied), dove-tailed blade fore-sight, folding ladder rear-sight, plain receiver, the top-tang marked 'MODEL 1886', straight-hand walnut butt-stock with iron crescent heel-plate (modified at heel), plain walnut fore-end with iron nose-cap and full length under-barrel magazine tube, eyelets for the 'Winchester' sling (absent), re-finished throughout with some shallow pitting
